This structure is not solely limited to myths but applies to our daily lives. The hero begins in a world like ours but is soon called to leave it behind and embark on an adventure filled with challenges and obstacles. Eventually, the hero faces the ultimate dilemma, a final ultimatum where they must confront their deepest fears and make a rather significant sacrifice. The hero returns to the ordinary world upon completion, but their experiences forever change them.

Firstly, the journey has three primary phases: departure, initiation, and return. The hero is called to adventure and must leave the comfort of their home at the departure stage. Due to their trials, the hero must develop and alter during the initiation stage. The hero returns to the real world at the return stage, but their experience has changed them.

Therefore, the hero's journey contains several vital components, including the call to adventure, threshold guardians, the road of trials, supreme agony, reward, and return. He stresses that the hero's journey is both a physical and oneself-discovery and self-transcendence. More excellent knowledge of oneself and one's role in the world may be attained by using the hero's journey as a model for personal growth. Every one of us is the hero of our adventure.

It's mesmerizing to think about how the structure of the hero's voyage can be found in myths, stories, and legends from all cultures, and how it can also be applied to our own lives. The belief that we are all protagonists in our tales, facing obstacles and setbacks on the path to individual growth, was particularly compelling. It was significant because it provided an overall perspective on the human experience and our quests for significance and purpose.

While I generally agreed with most of the ideas presented in the resources, I did have some reservations about the universality of the Hero's Journey structure. Although it is an insightful framework for analyzing stories and personal growth, it may not be applicable to every individual's life or cultural narrative. It is important to recognize the diversity of human experiences and acknowledge that there may be alternative paths to self-discovery and personal transformation.

This week's learning has been quite relevant to my personal life, as it has given me the opportunity to reevaluate my own journey and the obstacles I have faced along the way. I can take the principles of the Hero's Journey and apply them to specific situations in my life, using them as a roadmap for growth and understanding.
